Desiccant packaging prevent moisture entering bottle

There are six sources of effervescent tablet packaging containers. First, the body and the cap material have a certain amount of water, and secondly, the water in the medicine and the desiccant packaging material is evaporated during the production process and storage, and third, the moisture contained in the drug itself; fourth, the packaging material of the packaged product itself contains moisture, released during storage. Fifth, the moisture contained in the air in the packaging bag after the packaging container is sealed. Sixth, after sealing, the water molecules in the outside atmosphere penetrate into the product during transportation and storage.

The desiccant physically adsorbs water molecules in its own structure, or chemically absorbs water molecules and changes its chemical structure to become another substance. Affect the number of water molecules in the effervescent bottle:

First, the size of the packaging container (dry space), the humidity requirements of the packaged product (ie, the relative humidity of the predetermined control)

Second,the water content of the product itself

Third,the properties of the packaging materials used in the product (especially moisture permeability)

The air contain moisture,so the special pharmaceutical tablet should be packaged by the special bottle which has desiccant inside of bottle.

Today, i will introduce the desiccant with the vitamin effervescent tablet tube for example. Effervescent tablets are tablets which are designed to dissolve in water, and release carbon dioxide.Because that the vitamin effervescent tablet can react with water,so store the effervescent tablet must isolate the moisture.So the effervescent packaging is designed,the effervescent tablet tube has unique cap,this cap has a small storehouse which can store the desiccant.

Then i will introduce the desiccant.The desiccant also is called adsorbent,is generally used for moistureproof, mould proof, play a drying role.The common desiccants are silica gel and molecular sieves.The desiccant is a solid which can absorb moisture from air,its drying theory is that the desiccant can absorb the moisture by physical way or chemical way.

Then i will introduce two kinds of desiccant which is generally use in effervescent tablet tube

First, silica gel,Silica gel is an amorphous and porous form of silicon dioxide,Used in moderate to high humidity and/or moderate temperature (less than 125°F / 52°C) environments.

Second, molecular sieves,molecular sieve is a material with pores (very small holes) of uniform size.Used to create very dry environments or in high temperature (up to 400°F / 204°C) applications.
