High-density polyethylene bottles are widely used in pharmaceutical packaging. According to the different drug dosage forms, the caps are also different. Common caps include ordinary caps, screw caps, and moisture-proof caps. Each of the three caps has Features:
Ordinary cover: Ordinary cover is a general screw cap, which is produced by injection molding process. Different types of sealing gaskets can be selected according to different drug requirements. Generally, aluminum foil gaskets or pressure-sensitive gaskets are selected. Inflatable drugs can be equipped with breathable gaskets.
Compression cap: A compression cap is a special safety package, which is mainly used in some prescription drugs such as antihypertensive drugs and hypoglycemic drugs to prevent children from opening the package and eating the drugs by mistake. The bottle cap is composed of inner and outer double-layer caps. When opening, the bottle cap must be pressed down and rotated at the same time to make the inner and outer caps fit together before opening. Due to the force in two directions involved in opening, it is difficult for children to open the package, which avoids accidental ingestion of medicines.
Moisture-proof cap: This type of cap is generally made of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) material, including cap skeleton, desiccant, and cardboard. Different from ordinary caps, the desiccant of this cap is placed in the bottle. The top of the cap prevents children from accidentally ingesting the desiccant while reducing the interior of the bottle. Moisture-proof covers are mainly used for drugs that require high moisture resistance, such as drugs that are afraid of moisture.
The above are three common types of caps for high-density polyethylene bottles. Different types of caps are suitable for different drugs and play a key role in the sealing and moisture resistance of the packaging.
